  • EA FC 24: Choose Right Formation To Adapt To Different Situations In FUT Champions

    Posted: Apr 03, 2024

Today, I'll dive into the strategy for matches of the EA FC 24 FUT Champions. Crafting different formations for different circumstances comprising unique tactics and instructions. These formations provide versatility and allow players to adapt to different game situations effectively. Prepare for enough FC 24 Coins, then let's dive in!

    4-3-2-1 Formation

The first formation involves using 4-3-2-1, which employ from the start of the match. It’s crucial to determine your the initial formation you’re comfortable with and will use in the majority of matches.

Custom Tactics: In this formation, set the width to 35 and the depth to 67, maintaining a balanced approach. It’s essential not to take excessive risks at the beginning of a game. In offense, set the width to 49 and choose the Direct Passing. Then keep 5 Player in Box. Corners and Free Kicks are both set to 2 bars to minimize risks.

Player Instructions: The Goalkeeper has no specific instructions. Then the Right Back is instructed to balance and Overlap, while the Left Back stays back and overlaps for balance. The Middle Center Midfielder covers the center while staying back during attacks, with the same instructions applied to the Right Center Midfielder.

The Left Center Midfielder is set to Balanced, ensuring coverage on both sides. The Left Forward and Striker have no specific instructions. This setup creates a 4-4-2 defensive formation, with the Left Forward and Right Forward defending as Left and Right Midfielders.

    4-2-3-1 Formation

The next formation involves using 4-2-3-1. Switch to this formation when you need to change things up, such as when you're leading a game but feel your opponent gaining momentum, or when you're chasing and the 4-3-2-1 isn’t working well. The 4-2-3-1 is still balanced both offensively and defensively, making it a reliable option.

Custom Tactics: In this formation, the settings remain balanced. The width is set to 40, and the depth to 65. Offensively, maintain balance and Direct Passing, with a width of 55 and 5 Player in Box. Corners and Free Kicks are set to 2 bars, mirroring the settings in the 4-3-2-1 formation.

Player Instructions: The Goalkeeper has no specific instructions. The Right Back and Left Back stay back while attacking and overlap. Both CDMs stay back while attacking and cover the center. All CAMs come back on defense, including the Left CAM, Central CAM, and Right CAM. The Striker is instructed to Get in Behind and Drift Wide.

    5-4-1 Formation

Now, let’s delve into the next formation. It’s employed when you're leading the game with 2 or 3 goals, or even just one goal with only 10 or 15 minutes left, and aim to see out the match. You can adopt a time-wasting strategy and prioritize defending. For this purpose, you can switch to a 5-4-1 formation.

Defensive Tactics: Maintain a balanced approach with the settings. The width is set to 35, ensuring defensive solidity without sacrificing too much attacking potential. In a 5-4-1 formation, there’s already significant defensive width, so don’t feel the need to decrease it further. However, keep the depth slightly higher at 62 to prevent your opponent from easily reaching the box while maintaining a compact defensive structure.

Offensive Tactics: Maintain balance and Direct Passing, with a width of 55. However, reduce the number of Player in Box to 3 to minimize the risk of conceding counter attacks. While we aim to defend resolutely, we still need options when in possession, hence the moderate setting for Player in Box.

Both Corners and Free Kicks are set to 1 bar. With a defensive mindset, there’s no need to commit too many players forward during these situations. It’s about minimizing risks and securing the lead until the final whistle.

    4-2-4 Formation

Lastly, we have the 4-2-4 formation. This is deployed when we find ourselves in a dire situation. In such circumstances, you can switch to the 4-2-4 formation.

Custom Tactics: In this formation, you can apply constant pressure, aiming to mount a comeback. The width is set to 45, and the depth is maxed out at 100, pushing all the way up the pitch. Despite the aggressive approach, the offense remains balanced, with Direct Passing to facilitate Build Up Play. The width in attack is set to 55, ensuring adequate spacing for attacking movements.

To increase the attacking presence, set Player in Box to 7, though it can be adjusted to personal preference. Corners and Free Kicks are both set to 5 bars, reflecting our aggressive intent. In this scenario, the Goalkeeper can even join the attack, as we have nothing to lose and must score as soon as possible.

Player Instructions: Fullbacks join the attack and overlap, both Center Midfielders get forward, and Wingers stay forward and get into the box for crosses. The aim is to press high and keep everyone up to the pitch to capitalize on any opportunities that arise. For the Strikers, they are instructed to Stay Forward and Stay Central, ensuring they are ready to pounce on any chances that come their way.
